My computer does not want to turn on:

POSSIBLE CAUSES:   POWER CABLE FAILURE;  POWER SUPPLY DEFECTIVE OR BURNED OUT; DEFECTIVE MOTHERBOARD; DEFECTIVE CPU; DEFECTIVE RAM.  OTHER:  Internal power cable connector to motherboard is loose, or power switch is no longer making contact when pressed.

NOTE:  IF THIS IS A NEW COMPUTER BUILD - THE MOTHERBOARD MAY NOT BE RECEIVING ENOUGH POWER FROM THE POWER SUPPLY - INSTALL BIGGER POWER SUPPLY.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:  CPU OVERHEATING DUE TO FAN DEFECT.  POWER SUPPLY OVERHEATING TO FAN BREAKDOWN..
POSSIBLE CAUSES:   The Power Control has been changed to shut down after a short time (manually or by virus infection).  The BIOS has been changed under the Power Menu.   OTHER:   Computer is overheating  (see above).
POSSIBLE CAUSES:   Defective Video card or Onboard video is not functioning.
Defective Monitor - check cables (both power and data cablle) make sure they are seated firming into their sockets.  OTHER:   Incorrect Video Settings -  reset your Monitor or reset your computer
POSSIBLE CAUSES:   Incompatible Video Card Install.  Incompatible RAM Or any New hardware that has been installed is not supported by the Motherboard.

  NOTE:  IF YOU INSTALLED ANY NEW HARDWARE AND YOU GET THIS  THIS KIND OF RESULT -  YOU HAVE 2 CHOICES:   RESET THE CMOS CHIP TO ACCEPT THE NEW HARDWARE OR REVERSE THE PROCEDURE (Take Out your new hardware and put the original back in).   '

CRIITICAL NOTE:   IF YOU RESET THE CMOS JUMPER ON YOUR MOTHERBOARD - THE BIOS WILL ENTER DEFAULT STATUS AND MIGHT NOT BOOT UP WITH ORIGINAL SETTINGS -  ENTER BIOS ON PROPER KEY (DELETE) OR MANUFACTERERS KEY (F1 OR OTHER) AND RE-PROGRAM YOUR BIOS BOOT ORDER:   YOU MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH COMPUTER BIOS SYSTEMS IN ORDER TO RECEIVED POSITIVE RESULTS -  IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH  COMPUTER BIOS SYSTEMS - DO NOTHING AND REFER TO AN EXPERIENCED TECHNICAL CONSULTANT.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:  BAD KEYBOARD.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:   Your Original Boot Device has failed  (Bad hard drive) OR
The boot menu order is looking for an operating system in the wrong places.
Reset the Boot Device to jump into your hard drive (from BIOS system).

NOTE:  If your computer is over 3 years old it may be that the CMOS BATTERY is no longer retaining the information the BIOS needs to boot up on memory - change the battery if you feel this may the problem - have it done by an professional to avoid damaging the Motherboard.   IF YOU DO IT ON YOUR OWN - MAKE SURE THE COMPUTER IS DISCONNECTED -  ALWAY UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER WHEN OPENING THE CASE TO DO ANY CHANGES OR IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A LIGHTNING STORM IN YOUR AREA.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:   1.   VIRUS INFECTION.    2.   SOMEONE HAS REPROGRAMMED YOUR SYSTEM.    3    SOMEONE OR THING IS INTERFACING WITH YOUR COMPUTER FROM THE INTERNET.

NOTE:  Check your "Computer Updates" on your Control Panel (WINDOWS SYSTEM)  -  make sure it is on "OFF"  -  We at Walters Judson  do not believe in giving Microsoft Corporation the right to go into your computer and update what they think is "right" for you -- Purchase your own security.
